KPΩ Successes
 

Kappa Rho Omega Chapter sorors continue to spend time and energy, and provide financial support to implement the theme “SUPREME IN SERVICE TO ALL MANKIND”.  Some accomplishments include:

 

  • Hosted six joint Founders’ Day Celebrations for graduate and undergraduate chapters located in Lawrenceville, Petersburg, and Richmond, Virginia in 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1999, and 2006

  • Hosted Mid-Atlantic Regional Conferences as a chapter in the Northern Western Virginia Cluster

  • Won 3rd Place for “Alpha Kappa Alpha: Making the Net Work” program exhibit at the 45th Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference, 1998; special recognition/honorable mention for displays of  sorority programs at Mid -Atlantic Regional Conferences in 2000 ,2001, 2002

  • AKA Operation ROSE Certificates awarded to Martha E. Cleveland, Vera Cooke-Merritt, and Barbara W. Toney at the 45th Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference, 1998

  • Awarded EAF 3-STAR ROCKET CHAPTER for several years; received a Master’s degree at Mid-Atlantic Regional Conferences, 1999,2002; judged EAF scholarship applications, 1998 and 1999

  • Recognized for submitting chapter reports on time at the  Mid-Atlantic Regional Conferences, 1999, 2000,2001, 2002; received badge for being an Honor Chapter, 2002

  • Received local award for participation in African American Health and Beauty Conference, 1999

  • Received plaque for outstanding service from the American Red Cross for  sponsorship of the Bloodmobile Drive

  • Received Mid-Atlantic Honor Roll at the 2002 Boule

  • Received certificates of attendance at Clusters, Regional Conferences, and Boules

  • Graduated the first “On Track” participants in June, 2002

  • Monies were given in memory of the late Soror Grace Ward.

  • Co-hosted  the 1st Statewide Virginia Cluster meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia with the Lambda Lambda Omega Chapter, October, 2003.

  • Received two awards at the 2008 Regional Conference

  • Membership: Reclamation Retention Initiative

  • EAF Membership: Five Heart

  • Hosted several Centennial Celebration activities in April 2007

  • Reactivation Dinner

  • Kappa Rho Omega Pizza Day with Lambda Chapter are area high school juniors and seniors

  • Declaration of AKA Day (Open House) by Mayor of Farmville

  • AKA Worship Day at Baptist Union Baptist Church

  • Visit to the AKA Traveling Exhibit in Richmond, Virginia

  • Continue building a working relationship with the Undergraduate Chapter, Lambda Delta Chapter, Longwood University
