Eleven sorors have been dedicated to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for twenty-five years or more. Kappa Rho Omega Silver Stars are Sorors Martha Cleveland, Vera Cooke-Merritt, Carolyn Cooper, Cynthia Evans, Avis Gresby, Lauraetta Jones-Yates, Ruby Robinson, Evelyn Williams, Elaine Whitehead, Linda Whitehead, and Allie Yarbrough.

Silver Stars

Kappa Rho Omega Chapter is proud to have three active Golden Sorors: Soror Mary Elizabeth Hoyles-Washington,  Soror Doris Scott Crawford and Soror Evelyn Flournoy Williams.  

Soror Washington was initiated into Alpha Xi Chapter, Livingstone College, Salisbury, North Carolina, in October 1948.  She is a charter member of Kappa Rho Omega Chapter.  She became a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in January, 1999.  Soror Elizabeth Hoyles-Washington is the chapter Historian. A retired educator, she is active in many organizations in Buckingham County.            

Soror Scott Crawford was initiated into Alpha Eta Chapter, Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia, in 1958. Prior to transferring to Kappa Rho Omega Chapter in 2007, she was active with Alpha Pi Omega Chapter in Knoxville, Tennessee. There she served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, and the South Eastern Regional Conference Chair in 2005. Dr. Scott Crawford is currently vice-president for Institutional Advancement at Virginia University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Soror Evelyn Williams was initiated into Gamma Theta Chapter in 1960 at Hampton Institute, now Hampton University. Prior to joining Kappa Rho Omega Chapter in 2006, she was a general member. Since joining the chapter, she has served on various committees and represented the chapter well at the 2010 MARC in the "Trivia Contest", a winner.
 

Golden Sorors  

In 2004, four sorors became life members of our great sorority: Sorors Martha Cleveland, Vera Cooke-Merritt, Carolyn Cooper, and Avis Gresby. Soror Linda Whitehead became a life member in 2005, Soror Lauraetta Jones-Yates in 2006, and Soror Ruby Robinson in 2008. The chapter boasts eight life members including Golden Soror Elizabeth Hoyles-Washington.

Life Members
