In recent years increased attention has been given to the study of leadership. The role of the Alpha Kappa Alpha leader has increasing shifted dramatically. Traditionally, we as very skillful and creative women who have had to compartmentalize our lives, but not anymore. Our lives have become more and more integrated as we become more involved in our communities,  As we interact as mothers, daughters, sisters, educators, government and civic leaders we see how the better parts of us as a leader transcend the roles we take on in our home, work and community activities.

It is important that our communities realize that the fundamental essence and character of the Alpha Kappa Alpha woman depends, from the start on the integrity of its leaders and gets defined by actions as simple as consistency, practicing what you preach, commitment
and caring and mentoring the young leaders of today.

Sisters, be all you can be!
